Mary Otieno

Mary Otieno, the founder of SIPROSA School, is a Professor of Education Planning and Policy Studies and a Coordinator of the Regional Center of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development at Kenyatta University. She is an alumni of the Echidna Global Scholars Programme on quality education for girls in developing countries, sponsored by the Center for Universal Education at the Brookings Institution, Washington DC, USA. Mary is a mentee of the Cherie Blair Foundation Mentoring Programme and a volunteer member of many NGOs working on girls education challenge to improve learning outcomes within and outside Kenya. As an educator, Mary desires to give back to society quality education through SIPROSA School to underprivileged girls and boys. Her expertise and experience in teaching and teacher education will add immensely in driving SIPROSA School to greater heights.

Eve Obara

Eve Obara is Chief Executive Officer at Kenya Literature Bureau and a Council member of the lobby Kenya Publishers Association. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Political Science from the University of Nairobi and an MSc in Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Human Resources Management and member of the Marketing Society of Kenya. Eve is a founding trustee of the National Education Womens’ Initiative (NEWI), an NGO of professional women volunteers working with girls in a mentoring programme towards improving learning outcomes in primary and secondary schools in Kenya. Her experience will be valuable to the development of quality education in SIPROSA School.

Simon Omollo

Simon Omollo is the Managing Director of Vinste electronics ltd, with over 35 years in the IT Industry having joined it straight from college. He holds a Higher National Diploma in Electronics and Bachelor of Science in business and information technology. Prior to joining Vinste electronics, Simon worked with East African Post and Telecommunication Corporation as a telecommunication engineer and Computer application Ltd as a Senior customer service engineer in charge of the Computer installation, Maintenance, data communication and networks. Simon has a lot of interest in environmental conservation and protection which is a concern of SIPROSA School. In view of this he attended e-waste academy training by United Nations University Institute for the Advance study and sustainability (UNU_IAS). His Vast experience in the information technology is an asset to SIPROSA School in use of ICT for learning and will contribute to attainment of the vision of SIPROSA School.

David Otieno Odongo

David Otieno Odongo is a high school teacher of physics and Chemistry with a master’s degree in community health and development. David is a PhD student currently undertaking his dissertation in disaster management and sustainable development and has published in Global Journal of Medical Research on diseases and in Food Science and Quality Management Journal on Food Science. David works with the youth as a mentor with experience in community partnership and building health promoting schools. David has a desire to be a change agent in building health promoting schools as a pillar in achieving sustainable development. His experience will hugely contribute to attainment of the vision of SIPROSA School in scientific learning.

Nelly Otube

Nelly Otube is head of Special Needs Department and Professor of special needs education at Kenyatta University. She holds a PhD in special Education from Hamburg University, Germany. Previously she has been involved in other administrative duties at the university including coordination of post-graduate special education students, research, departmental linkages and examinations. She is a member of many departmental and faculty committees. She is a teacher trainer involved in supervision of teacher trainees for both primary and secondary schools. Nelly has received many education research awards from among others African Social Sciences Research Organization (CODESRIA), Senegal, DAAD, and FORD Foundation. Nelly is a researcher with research papers presented and published ranging from inclusive education, school safety for children with special need to relevant assistive technology for learners with special needs. SIPROSA School will benefit from her teacher supervision skills and experience in managing children with special needs.
